Stone Creek™ Chubby Chernobyl

The Stone Creek™ Chubby Chernobyl is one of the most popular and effective modern attractor dry flies ever developed. Designed to imitate stoneflies, grasshoppers, large terrestrials, and other oversized surface insects, this high-floating foam pattern has become a staple in trout fly boxes across North America.

Built with a durable double-foam body, rubber legs, and a highly visible wing post, the Chubby Chernobyl offers exceptional flotation, visibility, and fish-attracting movement. It rides high even in rough currents, pocket water, and fast-moving rivers, making it easy to track while supporting heavier nymph droppers below.

Available in a variety of proven fish-catching colors, the Chubby Chernobyl excels as a searching pattern, a terrestrial imitation, or one of the best dry-dropper indicator flies ever created. Whether fishing freestone streams, tailwaters, mountain rivers, or spring creeks, this fly consistently produces aggressive surface strikes from trout and other gamefish.
